Tijdens de warming up werd er kennis gemaakt met "core stability"en krachttraining. Ontlasting van de gewrichten lag aan de basis van het lopen van stokken en wordt heden ten dage door de Nordic Walkers als zodanig herkend.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="MsoNormal"&gt;Een andere voorloper van het Nordic Walking moet gezocht worden in de zomertraining van Finse langlaufers.
